The FDA (Food and Drug Administration of the USA) that is a reference of general guidelines accepted as suitable for a healthy diet since it has conducted very large clinical studies and for many years, makes recommendations for the daily consumption of various elements such as vitamins, fiber and protein.
The consumption recommendations are based on a 2000kcal/day diet, which is the recommended average for active adult individuals, that is, with a moderate level of exercise.

For the optimal formulation of PEPU2 bars, the objective was to provide 20% of the VDR = recommended daily value of PROTEIN and FIBER in a 40 gram snack format, which provides an adequate portion to satisfy hunger and provides important nutritional benefits. Additionally, our bars do not contain sugar, except that which comes naturally from dehydrated fruits contained our red berries and yellow fruit flavors. All our bars have a minimum sunflower oil content, necessary only so that the mixture of cereals and fruit does not stick to the rollers of the machine in which the bars are made.

FIBER

All PEPU2 bars contain 5 grams of vegetable fiber, equivalent to 20% of the FDA's recommended Daily Consumption Value (DCV), to maintain a healthy digestion. Good digestion contributes to weight control (and healthy colon). 

VEGETABLE PROTEIN

PEPU2 bars provide 20% to 24% of the recommended DCV of protein (see table).Vegetable protein provides the body with all amino acids essential for the optimal increase and maintenance of muscle mass.Numerous studies indicate that protein helps create muscle strength in conjunction with an exercise program. PEPU2 bars have protein from quinoa and soy. Protein contributes to the development of muscle mass and helps increase strength during resistance training.

FIBER

Polydextrose is a special low-calorie carbohydrate, sugar-free, with low glycemic index, which has prebiotic properties and is widely recognized as nutritional fiber.

PROTEINS

Formed from extruded Quinoa, extruded Soy Protein Isolate, and Soy Protein Isolate powder. We use soy proteins that have "Identity Preserved Certification", that is, they come from soybeans that have been produced without biotechnology or genetic modification. Isolated Soy Protein is a highly refined form of soy protein with a minimum protein content of 90% on a moisture-free basis. It is made from defatted soybean meal, to which most of its non-protein components, fats and carbohydrates are removed.

Sweet flavour WITHOUT SUGAR

Stevia (vegetable sweetener) and maltitol syrup which is a member of a family of sweetener aggregates known as polyols, a low-calorie sweetener supplement that has a sugar-like taste and sweetness. It is obtained from the hydrogenation of maltose, which is extracted from starch. It is very useful for people with diabetes and is used to hold the bar together.
